... what does it mean when the person says "I'm dreaming about of a place i love even more than i usually do", Does that mean he's dreaming about the place more than usual, or he loves the place more than usual. help me out here if you can. thanks.
and also why would they put presents on the tree, why not under? and if those aren't the real lyrics, then please get me the right ones thanks.

I'm dreaming tonight of a place i love
Even more than i usually do
And although i know
It's a long road back
I promise you

I'll be home for christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe and presents under the tree

Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for christmas
If only in my dreams

Christmas eve will find me
Where the love light gleams
I'll be home for christmas
If only in my dreams

You can see from these lyrics that they mean im dreaming of a place i love, more than i usually do, because of the words being on the next line, and it does say under and not on. hope these help.

He usually dreams of home, but around the holidays he does so even more.
It used to be a practice to put some presents ON the tree (way back when) - some have modified the lyrics in current versions to actually say "under".

I would think that he is dreaming about the place he loves more than usual because of it being Christmas. Homesickness

He's dreaming about home more because he isn't there and its near Christmas time, so he misses it more.

I don't know why they say presents on the tree. I've always thought that was a bit strange myself.

I think the singer just appreciates home so much more at Christmas time. I know when I would get to go home for Christmas from college I was filled with a lot more enthusiasm about it than when I would go home for summer vacation.
