'You are not the man that I married.'

No, I just wanted to say that you marry a person with all their imperfections, why attempt to cure them of it? That's like saying I am perfect and the yardstick you have to measure up to.

Because people tend to project themselves on other people. We all do it to some degree. We can't help it . . .it's human nature. Sad, but true . .
and sometimes we can get so caught up in it, we can't see the big picture which is: we can only change ourselves, not the other person. But we can control how we perceive them and react to them.

It is human nature of course.

I think the idea that we are "static" as people is flawed. If you are not changing every day, you are probably dead!!! Only an idiot does not learn from his experiences.

Woman changing a man? Pretty natural and so is reverse. Bad? No, but a person has to decide what's important and whats not

You are not the man I marrried? Gosh every marriage is different. Wife not the woman married either. See my first point. I think there are too many failed marriages because of a flawed view of love but well all is still case by case.

Women and men often don't think alike.
Man: Why won't you except me as I am?
Woman: Why won't you except I'm someone that wants to change you?

The problem you talk about arose after the woman in the earlier conversation won the argument.

.....I want a divorce!

Old story, told and heard many times.
Perhaps she enjoys giving makeovers and wants to give a makeover to some other guy.

P.S. I don't think she really loves you, or she wants you to resemble someone else.
Be you! Don't change to please her, she's not good enough for you.
