Wesley Autrey! Remember his name!
I cry each time I read about him.
LANE, of course there is an element of race in this story, but it's because this is a black construction worker from Harlem who risked his life in a split second for a young, seemingly well-off white film student, without hesitation. There certainly are people in this country who need to hear about this.
I think because our country is so divided between races and wealthy and poor, it is even more beautiful to hear about this man - evidence that we are all the same and heroes walk among us.
I hope everyone is inspired by this. Not too much hype, not at all.

I would of done the samething thing I always helping someone and it does not have to be a great thing that you do for others but if you try to help someone anyone. I suffering from seizures as well many people yes do laugh at people with disabilities but there are very few people that want to help people that are in trouble. I would stop well on thing people need to know cpr cause you never know if you need. I couple years ago, had a boss who was on drugs although whiched who had taken my helped more I did offer him cpr. I hope and pray for him every day that he got the real help he needed but I of course will never know. I know I did my best to help but sometimes you just can't help a drug addict so now it in Gods hands.you can't help someone who dosen't want the help. then all you do is pray. I am greatful for what I did. I greatful for what this guy did shows me we should always help someone no matter how small or big, always help a stranger. this was a good lesson for his two kids. I would of done the same thing. he not a super herioic he just did what God would have him do at that moment. I think he did a wonderful thing.

This guy is the definition of a selfless hero. In Chicago one time, I fell down on the subway tracks and a guy jumped onto the tracks and helped me up. I never saw him again but he literally saved my life. People like this are the greatest and should be rewarded with a million dollars.

thats really sacrificing, I remember when that plane went down in the Potomac years ago and people just ran into the river at the crash scene to save people without thinking of their own safety. I cannot IMAGINE the heart and souls of people like this, they are willing WITHOUT THOUGHT to give the ultimate sacrifice (their lives) to save someone else, the only other persons that do this on a regular basis are firefighters they have proven themselves thruout history to also be true heroes. I think I could only do that if it were my child that I had to save, but then I have never been put in a situation like that guy in the subway or anything like that ever myself to really know.

I think it is brave, you will always have that kind of people...
I can not help thinking of his children, though...
Some actions are like that, spontaneous, irrational...
Studying nursing years ago, we were told to put something between the teeth of people having a seizure.
And that the man felt because of that...
Times a-changing as I read comments of people somewhere else saying it was a "not done"thing to do!
And I don't know if I would have done it, no...

It's hard to say WHAT I would have done... ( of course there are no subways around here!)... but I consider the guy a hero, especially to risk his own life for a complete stranger! I'll bet they each have a new friend, now!! Way to go!

I think the guy did a wonderful thing. Thank God it turned out the way it did. It is really hard to say what a person will or will not do in stressful and unforseen situations. I think this guy did what he did without hesitation, because he saw a dangerous situation and just reacted. Heroic things happen everyday.

He deserves a pat on the back and it makes everyone feel good for what he did. I hope it doesn't get blown out of proportion because he is black, because a lot of people are picking up on that. He just did what he had to and he's a good man.

easily, if i presumed there grew to become right into a stable probability that i'd desire to shop them, confident, i could. If i presumed that there grew to become right into a constrained probability that the two human beings could survive i would not. i'm no longer being cowardly or something - yet you're able to desire to all agree that 2 lives lost is worse than one.
