The very essence of words is not so much that they are 'just something we say', but that they form one of our essential forms of communication; we, as primarily social beings, fundamentally need to communicate with social others and do so through language (language here encompasses the spoken and written word as well as gesture and signs). Of course, it is important that you remember that all language is both socially and culturally constructed; as a construct there are, of course, fundamental differences both through and between social and cultural boundaries that alter the interpretation of language. This is one of the delights of multiculturalism, that as we communicate with social and cultural others we inherently expand our own knowledge and usage of language.

if you wish to engage in a debate or question and answer session about words, you really , really do owe it to yourself and your chosen subject to get the spelling CORRECT. in this case words are more than something just said, they illustrate an alarming degree of incomprehension.

Yes they are. But they help us to communicate and express how we feel.
