In the height of summer I think this is a bit of a no-no. Only because I did this when mine was about 6 months.....OMG what a mistake. She was really upset for the whole holiday, she cried cos she was so uncomfortable in the heat even tho I kept her in the shade and dunked her in the pool constantly, always cold drink in bottle etc.

I felt really selfish for taking her and it ended up where I was stressed to death and she was really ratty!

It was the worse 2 weeks eva, I'd never do it again. But at the end of the day love it's your choice!

Hi A newborn can fly at a week old if it's absolutely necessary, but it's better to wait until he's at least four to six weeks if you can. By then you will know whether or not he has any underlying health problems which may make it unsafe for him to travel. Also, babies are so vulnerable to germs during their first month, he may pick up a stray bug if he's cooped up with dozens of strangers breathing recycled air for hours.

It's not a good idea for your baby to fly if he has a cough, cold or ear infection, so do check with your GP before flying if you have any concerns about his health. Don't be alarmed if you hear or read that flying increases the risk of cot death. One study did appear to show evidence of this, but doctors generally agree that the study was flawed and that more research needs to be done. In the meantime, most doctors advise that air travel is safe for babies. Check out this link it tells you everything about taking your baby abroad and good luck

Yes, it's fine but going by experience take calpol, & re-hydration powders. Factor 50 sun protection & try & stay out of the sun between midday & 3pm.
Air conditioning was great where we stayed & you can also hire fans too.
Just watch how the locals deal with the hot weather , we very rarely saw a Spanish baby out during the day, they took their babies out around 7pm onwards.
Go by your instinct too, you can identify the different cries your own baby makes & if you don't feel that your baby is well seek medical help straight away.
Find out where all the local doctors/hospitals are based etc....

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they've been sustaining 4-month old babies in Spain for a long, long time...
I wouldn't worry about the heat as long as you're providing plenty of milk and water for the baby, not overdressing the baby and keeping it out of direct sunlight as much as possible. I live in Texas, and we manage to keep our babies healthy here in spite of some very unrelenting heat.

Its fine. A four month old baby can travel to any country in the world as long as the parents take excellent care of their children.

It should be fine - after all the Spaniards have babies of their own there. I would make sure you keep the baby away from he bright sunlight though and put a sun hat on it too.
