What are the steps I need to take? I don't agree with the removal of prayer in school and removing the acknowledgement of "in God we trust" in the court rooms or to stop saying "one nation under God" when reciting the Pledge of Alegance". I'm tire of sitting around allowing this to happen. This is the year I am going to start doing something!

Update...I am not trying to force my religion on anyone by re-instating what's been taken away. Believing in God is a choice! My right to acknowledge "one nation under God" etc, is what I am talking about. This is what our country was founded on. If you don't believe it, don't say it. Why take it away?

I keep saying, I'm not trying to force prayer on anyone. But so many have forgotten how and why this country was founded and principles it was founded upon. Yes, it is your right not to pray, it is your right not to say "in God we trust" or "one nation under God", but that doesn't mean to take it out of Pledge of Alegance or remove those symbols of which our country was founded upon.

Start small and just demand your right to practice your religion--whatever it might be. If you are in school, join a prayer group, such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Pray openly. Wear teeshirts and jewelry that proclaim your faith. It is your constitutional RIGHT to do so. Although the school is not allowed to foster religion, YOU can and shouldn't be afraid to, no matter what you are told.

I am a Catholic and I do not want any of those rules over turn. There are other religions out there and I have good friends that are not Christian and yes also some "atheists."
Government should never be controlled by any group, they can make suggestions and try to influence, but should never be allowed to control legislation. If this were the case I would have been believing Earth was still the center of the universe and Galileo was evil until Pope John Paul II finally undid that injustice.

So, your option would be that those who are Atheists are forced to lie in a court room- they obviously don't trust in any God.
You can, however, raise public awarness of the issue by demonstrating, and by collecting signatures.
I do not see this as a just cause. Of course, I hear it is a free country over there too, so you can do as you like.

Wow, I hope you wont do such a tacky thing as wear Christian themed T-shirts, as such things is insulting to the church institutions.
Worship in your churches if you are Catholic or Orthodox, or at home by yourself if you are Protestant... That is what the divisions stand for. There is no religious tradition that claims that worshipping in schools and other public institution is pious.
I assume that you are Protestant- who accede that God is able to hear your prayers even outside a church and without a priest, but if so, you belong to a group that accepts secular prayer, and dismisses organised events as not particularily pious.
I'm not sure. Have you asked the opinion of your Priest? You should consult him/her first.

you forget that the constitution rquires that this country may not enact any law establishing religion, nor limiting the free execise thereof. prayer is just such a violation when it is required in schools. it is a requirement that the constitution prevents from being forced on anyone, rgardless of religious view, and because of religious freedom.
how many muslims want to pray to a christian god? or how many christians want to pray to a buddist statue?
the same is true for one religion as another. if you want to pray in school, fine. go to a religious school, but don't presume everyone should pray when they may not agree with what you believe.
public schools are just that-public. i don't want my children being forced to pray, especially if i have to pay for the schools. if i want them to pray, they can do it when and where i want them to, not where you want them to.

Prayer has not been removed from schools... only organized prayer. Here's the beauty of it: Teach your kids when, where, and how to pray when they have time at school. You will be reinforcing your own family values AND you will not interfere with someone else's family values. It's okay......
