It's fairly new and happens everytime I reinstall windows xp. I send it for repair but they test it and tell me they can't find a problem. Any ideas what it could be so I can tell the technicians.

If the engineer can't find any problems with the hardware it may be a software issue. Call Microsoft on 0800 281221 and they will advise - make sure you have your licence number handy.

It depends on how old your computer is, it may not be compatible with windows xp, go to Microsoft web site and have a look there, that is what I do when the is a problem.

My spontaneous first guess would have been that you have a (backdoor) trojan mucking up, but one would presume that a qualified technician would find something as simple as that and that it would go away when you completely format the PC.

Maybe try running a scan with www.kaspersky.com and see if this indicates a problem, just in case.
