I've been collecting Johnny Depp movies because I think he's very nearly perfect. But I wonder. A movie he made while very young, Private Resort, is about the dumbest thing I have ever sat through, and I bought it only because Depp was in it. Now I feel somewhat ripped off. OK, it goes into the archives, because I really want every movie he's been in.

But do you wonder? Did he only do it for the money, or did he actually like the script when he read it?

Has your favorite ever disappointed you this way?

It really depends, an actors popularity is based on working. He/She wants to be seen and remembered. But, if nothing really cool comes along, they take the best part they can. I recall seeing William H. Macy on Dennis Miller Live, and he said he just finished Jurassic Park 3 then said to Dennis Miller "Hey, #### you! It was a paycheck!" To which Dennis Miller replied,"I didn't say a word. I was the one who did Bordello of Blood, remember!" Do not blame Johnny Depp for Private Resort, he was trying to break in and hey! it was a paycheck. Just forget most of the movie and concentrate on the scenes where he show's his cute butt. Don't forget, Sly Stallone did that party/porno movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger did Hercules in New York, Clint Eastwood was in Creature from the Black Lagoon, and so on.

Every actor is going to make at least one bad movie in their career, usually when they're young and first starting out. That's just life.

I personally never a buy a movie without renting it first.

My favorite actor has been in a handful of bad movies during the early part of his career but in nearly all of those, he was the only saving grace because of his outstanding talent that no one else could pull off.

It is not unusual for any actor to have made a bomb or two. Your dissappointment is your problem however. Johnny Depp was just doing his job, acting. If you MUST have all of his movies, you are a bit compulsive. The actor doesn't dissapoint, the movie does.

Pretty stupid myself and somewhat very very disapointed in them that they can take on such a role that just makes them look like the worst actors/actresses in the business

I'm a huge Adam Sandler fan. Of course most of his movies are stupid. But that is why I like him so much.
