Once you have applied for the Decree Absolute 6 weeks and 1 day after the Decree Nisi then it should come through fairly quickly - depends how busy the Court is. You can go to Court and hear it being read out. The Court will give you or your solicitor a date for this.

Engaged is fine honey, but if you get married without the absolute you are breaking the law, sorry !! It shouldnt take long to get the absolute now though once you have the nisa.

Though you can only remarry during the lifetime of your first spouse when you are legally divorced, there is no legal bar in engagement with your b/f even if final decree of divorce is still pending.

you cannot get married again until you are divorced, but legally there is nothing stopping you from getting engaged: an engagement is just an agreement between you and your boyfriend that you will marry him.
But why the rush? It does sound a little indecently hasty to be getting engaged while you are still married to someone else.

You`ve waited this long hang on a few more days if this is the person for you, these days time shouldn`t really matter, when we become impatient with the system it could alter other things as well.
