I'm 24 male and had six rounds of laser hair removal on my back arms and chest and stomach that cleared my savings only to find it all pretty much growing again especially on my back. I can't afford more sessions but I can't live like a gorilla either. What else can I do? I have no social life because of it. Its extremely embarrasing.

I'm sorry, but I think you need to talk to someone about body image. Hair is normal, natural, and desirable. If it offends you this much, there must be some underlying issues that you're not dealing with. Many women prefer a man to look like a man, not a plastic Ken doll. If you have no social life it's because of your hangups, not the women's. If you are kind, intelligent, have a good sense of humor, and have an upbeat attitude, women are not going to reject you because you have a hairy body. Many would be turned off by a man not having body hair, as it feels kind of gay for a woman to be close to someone who is as smooth as she is.

what kind of laser did you have? you didn't have epilight did you? that does not work... but they act like it's a laser and pretend it does work.

the best laser treatments are with the alexandrite laser with a small tip and the highest joules... this concentrates a massive amount of energy into a small dot. some laser techs use a wide tip and low energy so it is not so painful and so that they can get the process over with faster... but this doesnt work.

also, i wouldn't bother getting rid of your chest hair. very few people consider chest hair unattractive. personally i think it is MORE attractive than smooth chests on a guy, but whatever. it's your body.

why do you have no social life because of this? do you live in LA or miami or something? if so, then just get waxed or go find someone who uses the alexandrite laser. by the way there are people who have up to 12 treatments with alexandrite before they are hair free... and at age 24, you may grow new follicles regardless... laser can't do anything about that.

btw - if you are dark skinned, find someone with the YAG laser.

Too bad on the LHR, who did you go to and what system did they use? You should be at least seeing some results by now.

I agree with the earlier answerer that the Alexandrite is a good LHR solution...I would also recommend some Diode's and depending on your skin type, some Yag lasers. At the end of the day, you need to see someone who has the knowledge to treat you at a high enough energy level to obtain results.

If you are drained, try waxing...or go to a better LHR group that offers you a guarantee.

You sound like you worry too much about your body hair--unless you go around shirtless a lot, or spend a lot of time a the beach without a shirt, your hairyness should not be that big of an issue. I go to the gym, lots of guys, the majority, have body hair, and back hair, it is no big deal. True, the pics you see on line and on TV, movies and in magazines show these sculptured hunks with no body hair visible, but that certainly is not the norm--and the rest of us hairy guys don't really have a social stigma against us, most of us date, marry, have kids! You can shave, there is a new body shaver available by Phillips I think, that supposedly trims off excess hair. But again, the hair is natural, and if the crowd you hang with make a big deal about body hair, you hang with the wrong crowd!

Buy a waxing kit for home. READ DIRECTIONS. Have a friend wax your back and other areas. You can afford to do this! And YOU are worth it!
