Lying started in Paradise when the snake lied to Eve to entice her to eat the forbidden fruit. Lying is part of our every day life. Not all men are compulsive liars, but everyone of us, young and old alike, has or will lie once or twice (at best) in his lifetime.

Lying is basically not telling the truth on purpose and consciously, this will cause the liar to live in a seperate world that he knows is not real....
... it protects the liar from the natural desire to redeme his/her guilt by never telling another lie and coming clean with those whom he lied too....
... it is a sickness of character and a person who develops lying in that sense needs help.

self-approbation,assuredness and confidence...
Lying is a tool of narcissism, cuz narcissim is nothing more than lying...
So, i think lie as effect of narcissim, not cause and of course not a way of prevention..i hope i helped..xxx

Neither I think oftentimes it's FROM narcissism. They think so highly of themselves that they think you'll beleive whatever they say. It depends on the kind of lie. Some lie to placate others.

There are a multitude ways of lying. Half-truths, exaggerations, insincerity, just to name a few. Most folks lie to get what they want, usually money, security, and status.
