Try to go to BUGIS STREET for shopping in the evening or night time, the clothes, shoes & bags are cheap and really nice. Fetch for a good price if you're buying more pieces. If you're free, try to visit Sim Lim Square in case you wld like to buy any IT or electronic gadgets.

For your info, the backpackers' hotel prices rendered are exceptionally low and affordable than the normal 2 or 3 stars Singapore hotels by 40 - 60%. So it is really cheap and most importantly, you get to know more international room mates and get interactions with them.

Try the Hotel81 chain, especially the outlet at Bencoolen Street and Middle Road if they are not fully booked. Otherwise go for the options in the 2nd website below.
