well, im not sure we get money from the Gulf, though some big American companies make alot of money off of oil,,,,,,, im sure we will adjust, and develop more of our own resources, if we lost the petrol from the Gulf,,,, also, most Americans realize it is not the Gulf countries causing our gas/oil to be so high priced, its our own fellow Americans,,,, the holders of the American oil companies,,,,,,
ps: i was just about to add a comment, when i see the first response stated it,,, it would be a favor for us if we were cut off,,,,,,,, we could develop our own,,,,, we could cut down,,,,,,, etc etc,,,,,

Well, we'd have 11% of our oil imports reduced, and I guess we'd drill more domestically, or we'd try to buy more from Russia, or learn to conserve.
In a way, I wish those nutjobs WOULD cut us off, cold turkey... It's the only thing that's gonna wake us up out of the blind stupor we've been in for 3 decades. Right now, we're like a crack addict that simply doesn't care how destructive our reliance on our supplier really is.
