What Ambah (sorry, not typing the full username out) is one of the reasons why we reptile people are considered irresponsible. Bringing your snake out into public without prior consent is very irresponsible. Most people have a fear of snakes, more so than dogs. All responsible snake people will tell you the same thing.
Do us all a favor and don't do it. It just makes us all look bad.

First off as a responsible snake owner you should NOT be doing this sort of thing in the first place. This does nothing to help snake owners. It does help to spread the fear of snakes and therefor, makes it harder for snake owners to be excepted. Also this gets people to impose bans on snakes simply because they are fearful of them.
She does not NEED social time as snake do just fine without human interaction at all. Human interaction only stresses the snake. They do not like this no matter what you may think.
The only places that you should ever take a snake are the vets, possible outside on warm days, and to schools for educational functions(and only after clearing it with the school). It doesn't matter how big she is now. People are still going to be afraid of her. And having people scared off isn't good for business.
It is clear you bought the snake for the 'shock and awe' factor so please do the rest of the herp world a favor and either leave her at home or take her back to the store you got her from! Before more laws are imposed.

This is a stupid idea for a few reasons.
1. Why risk stressing your snake out that much? Snakes enjoy the confines of a familiar place, taking them to a store will stress them out with all the new smells.
2. People run the risk of bumping your snake and getting bitten. Even the most docile snake will throw out a bite if they feel too stressed and threatened.
Honeslty, if you have to ask this question, you don't deserve to keep the snake. Period. As a responsible reptile keeper, you should know the risks involved with this. It's fine in an controlled environment, like the educational shows I do with the local rescue here, but in a store/mall whatever, your snake is still a baby, still developing and not entirely used to the idea that not everything is going to eat it. It's people that do this and have someone get bitten that make it even harder for those of us who do keep our snakes responsibly and work to educate the general public on the misconceptions they have about our animals.

Snakes need their "alone time" a whole lot more than "social time." This is not a mammal, and despite how much anthropomorphizing of this snake you do, she really doesn't like or dislike you. You're just something she tolerates because you don't bring her any harm.
Plus, taking the snake out too often will over stress her and worse, make her sick. She needs the temperatures and humidity requirements that are best met within her cage, not within a car or bag. You're risking a respiratory infection and other diseases every time you take her out.
Please think about the safety of your snake and keep her home.

Many people are scared of snakes. Its bad for business to have terrified customers. She needs social time? Why do you feel the need to take your snake to department stores? I know people that do and I just dont get it. I have a snake but I really dont take him out on the town. The snake dont want to go to the store unless it thinks it can make an escape.

I have a 5 ft long albino boa. His name is Sneaky. I don't put him in a bag, I carry him over my neck and shoulders. I've taken him into stores without a problem. The Walmart greeter in town likes him. She gives him a sticker and puts it on him when we go in.
I've taken him into Petco and Petsmart. I've also taken him to the mall and to Mcdonald's.
A lot of kids come up to me and want to know about him. There moms don't get so freaked out by the snake when I have my 2 year old pet him.
Sneaky gets along great with my kids and other pets.

Dogs are pets that are generally accepted and snakes are not. You made the choice to own a snake and you have to deal with the social ramifications of that decision. I have no problems with snakes but understand that many people do.

maybe have her wrap around your wrist so that way she'll look like a bracelet
i remember when i had my snake he always did that his name was sully but sadly he died a few years ago:(
or you can maybe buy one of those dog carrying bag things the ones with the little screens in front but one big enough for your snake to fit in if she is secure inside of something that she can't get out of but to where she can still be comfortable in it then people shouldn't have the right to tell you anything if she is not endangering herself or anyone then i see no problem

Who cares what human beings imagine of my little canines being in a handbag? many of the human beings who choose are massive canines vendors and do not comprehend how extremely trampled a three lb canines might want to be in a huge crowd. human beings might want to extremely end being so judgemental, geeze. merely because someone contains slightly canines in a handbag does not recommend that the canines does not use his ft. My Chihuahua can't walk for lengthy sessions of time. it would not count number if this is warm, chilly, or warmth... she will be able to commence to reveal warning signs of extreme and nerve-racking exhaustion - so i am going to %. her up and inspite of the indisputable fact that i don't have a handbag it truly is accessible. in case you "imagine" it truly is degrading to her, then in no way own slightly canines. end being judgemental and get over yourselves. this is not merely unsanitary, yet against the law to carry canines into grocery shops and maximum eating places. you mustn't do so till your canines is a service canines and has a good to be there with you. in case you carry your canines into Wal Mart, all of us else is going to imagine this is okay for them to carry theirs merely because he's little, besides. And inspite of ways behaved your little canines is, not all little canines are so behaved. there are a approach of further effective possibilities for socialization. Ones that are extra sanitary and a lot less crowded. Ever listen of PetSmart? That suggested, you may carry your little canines in different places they're not typically allowed. a huge canines proprietor provides you with a convincing no, yet it truly is inaccurate. I easily have performed so some cases (not out of decision or attempting to get previous the guidelines merely because my canines change into small, yet because i mandatory to make a pit end even as strolling to the vet) and had not something suggested to me in any respect. and that i do not actually have a handbag.
