You could try this option if you can't use the system restore program.

FIRST RUN YOUR ANTI VIRUS SOFTWARE TO TRY AND DELETE ANY UNWANTED INFECTION'S.

TO RESET YOUR PC TO FACTORY SETTINGS
Before you try using the system recovery program I would suggest using system restore:
if software on you hard drive accidentally gets erased or damaged, first use Microsoft system restore to return the computer's settings to a selected restore point without affecting user programs or document files. "how ever"
when other methods of repairing your system software fail then you may want to use the system recovery program as a last resort to reinstall software.

WARNING SYSTEM RECOVERY WILL DELETE ANY DATA OR PROGRAM THAT YOU INSTALLED AFTER PURCHASE,
BE SURE TO BACK UP ANY DATA THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP ON A REMOVABLE DISC

1.Disconnect any devices, like printer, scanner, webcam,
Except the monitor, keyboard, mouse
1. click start on the task bar
2. choose all programs
3. choose PC tools
and then click system recovery
4. wait until the system recovery box appears asking do you really want to start PC system recovery,, click yes
follow on screen instructions.
5.complete the computer start-up and finish the registration process, then reconnect all devices.
good luck.

First thing is, you might wanna try to look for its removal tool before doing anything restoring it to the factory setting. That being said, laptops usually have like a restore disk where all the data required to restore it to factory setting is stored. You should contact the manufacturer to ask about this. However, when all is lost, you can find a Vista/XP CD and just install it using your OS serial number on the back of the laptop.

The restore disc won't work because your running 2000, not xp.
You say that you have a lot of programmes
Open each programme up in turn, and delete all files in each area . For example, open Word, and delete all files (not the programmes)
Delete any programme which you do not need by going to control panel, add or remove programmes. For example, if you have a programme for a printer, but do not have that particular printer, delete it
Open up system tools run defrag and system clean up.
Run a virus check.
Unless you have a major problem, the removal of unnecessary files and programmes will improve performance

Nix on the emachines disk! It will only work on the original PC! About the only option you have is to go to the manufacturers website and purchase the original restore disk.
