Oh god this has got to be the worst thing about pregnancy. Here is a list for you, I have three children and love my food so my sypathies with the eating thing.
1. peanuts- if there any allegies in the family, your baby could be allergic. Can also be linked to asthma or severe hay fever .
2. Liver- contain large amounts of Retinol. This is the animal form of vitamin A, and can be dangerous to the unborn baby if received in high quantities.
3. Sushi- can be contaminated bacteria, toxoplasmosis and salmonella.
4.Swordfish, maceral and tuna - they may contain high levels of mercury which can cause brain damage in developing fetuses.
5.Soft cheese, Feta, brie and blue cheese, Camembert, and blue veined cheeses such as Roquefort and Stilton.- they could contain harmful bacteria and can cause listeria which can make you very sick. It can also cause miscarraige, stillbirth or serious illness in the baby. Cottage cheese, philidelphia and dairylea are all safe.
6. Raw sprouts - although Im not sure why.
7. Raw or unpasturised eggs that are found in Ceasar dressing, mayonnaise, Homemade ice cream and Hollandiase sauce - they may contain selmonella.
8. Fruit, salad and veg- is safe to eat, just make sure you wash it before eating, as bacteria are often found on the skins.
9. Meat - Any raw, rare or undercooked meat should not be eaten during pregnancy as they may contain bugs such as toxoplasmosis or salmonella.
10.Pâté- All types of pâté should be avoided, whether of meat, fish or vegetable origin.
Sorry about the essay, but safer to know. Good luck.

You are advised to avoid anything made from unpastuerised milk - for eg, cheese like Feta, Brie, Blue Veined Cheese etc because of the risk of Listeriosis.

Also raw egg, Pate, undercooked meat etc and some products mnade from raw egg such as homemade mayonnaise (shop bought mayo in a jar is fine).

Sword Fish, Mackerel, Shark and Tuna have high levels of mercury and you're not supposed to eat them (I hate fish so wouldn't have eaten any of this anyway!)

Some women avoid peanuts and peanut products in case it causes a nut allergy with the baby (I didn't as I was addicted to peanut butter!)

Fruit and veg need to be washed before you eat them.

Alcohol needs to be limited - I think you're not supposed to drink more than a glass of wine or two a week during pregnancy, but I'm teetotal so this never affected me.

Other than that, eat what you want. And stick to prenatal vitamins rather than regular multivitamins as you're not supposed to have high amounts of vitamin A in pregnancy. This is why you're not supposed to eat Liver pregnancy either (and as a vegetarian it astounds me why anyone would want to eat that in the first place! Blech!)

you should avoid Sushi and other raw fish and any fish containing mercury. When i was pregnant with my daughter my doctor told me not to eat Tuna in a can because of this. You should also avoid foods high in fat. Foods high in Sodium should also be kept to a minimum not because they are bad for the baby but because they can make your blood pressure go up.

You should have a healthy balanced diet when you are pregnant, or any time for that matter, and also don't drink alcohol or smoke while pregnant.
