I think he was adopted... he hasn't shown the greatness of his dad or brother.

Jury is still out on this one. So far the G-men were promised Filet Mignon and got a plate of cheap hmaburger meat. But it took Phil Simms about 4 years to stop the booing in NY.

Another thing is that many people underestimate the loss of Luke Pettigou (keeping ELi safe, and helping to sustain the run game) and especially the loss of the Giant's real number one receiver, Amani Toomer. (On paper he's number 2, but he is money on third down).

Shockey has been forced into more of a blocking role because of injuries and unimaginitive play calling. He could have helped Eli's numbers if the organization would let him. He is the real deal.

Eli makes way too many stupid mistakes. There is no way to evaluate whether or not he will step up or not. He has improved with staying in the pocket. And with not throwing from his back foot, but to throw interceptions right in front of the end zone with minute left on the clock and the team up by a few? No excuse for that. None.

The answer to the question, because football is a team sport, will depend on the supporting cast. The Giants better find some O line help.

Anyone who compares him to Peyton is either STUPID, or doesnt know their facts. Im betting on stupid, like the 1st answer of "He's no Peyton".

Check out Peyton's 1st 3-4 seasons.
Whoa! Look at that, very similar stats to Eli's.
Lets look at the W-L column from Peyton's 1st 3-4 seasons.
Lookit that, very similar again!

Eli's gonna break out pretty soon. Once he gets:
A) a better coach
B) a healthier team
C) a team that doesnt hate themselves
D) the media off his back (look what the NY media did to Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees)

he'll do much better. He's a great player. He'll be even better with age.

Eli Manning I think is the best QB out of the Manning siblings.

He is the only one which brought a really bad team to the top. They won't go to the conference game, but to get the Giants to where they are now was amazing.

Peyton got onto a good team and made it better. Eli took a crappy team and made it WAY better.

Eli had a good college career at OLe Miss... sitting at the top of the SEC east at one point... Pro career has been slow getting started but he is improving, but he is under a very big shadow from Dad and Peyton.

he has shown signs of great potential..and signs of being horrendous..he is in the ny spotlight, so everything he does gets magnified..he is not, at this point in his career, as good as peyton manning..not even close..but, he is in the same league as peyton was in his 2nd full season in the nfl..people forget peyton has been around the league A LOT longer than eli...give him another year or two..either he will show great progress..or become a bust..and since im a giants fan, im hoping for the progress aspect

It's hard to believe he is Peyton's brother. He makes such stupid mistakes and bad throws unlike Peyton but you can't forget Peyton has been playing alot longer than Eli. Eli is a newbie but I think someday he will be just as good as Peyton.

Eli's alright-- but you can't compare him to his brother Peyton whos been playing much longer and is [arguably] the best player in the NFL. sure Eli has good recievers-- plaxico burress, jeremy shockey, but peyton has better ones and a better offensive line

giants are going all the way!

THIS IS OUR YEAR!

He needs a better offensive coordinator and a quality 3rd receiver. The Giants lost Amani Toomer and nobody has stepped up.

He was over reated because of his name. That of course is not his fault. However he needs to be given 1 more season under a new head coach someone like Norm Chow I hope.

he would be better if he was on a better team. NY is never going to play him correctly, he went for the money and NY paid he before he proved himself, so if he played for the Bengals he would throw that ball like crazy and he would have protection and people that can catch the deep ball
