In order to view your movies on a standard DVD player, you have to author DVDs using special software and your video files. There are a number of programs available out there that work for different movie file types and there are some that will author no matter what file type you have. My favorite is AVI2DVD, which works mainly for AVIs. Sounds like you need one that'll author multiple file types though. Try ConvertXtoDVD. It's not free, but it does have a free trial so you can try it out and see if it works for you.
