High grades are the most important, but if your school offers advanced level courses (like AP or IB or Honors) and you take the regular class, you're not going to look as good. The top schools have tons of applicants with great grades in those advanced classes already.

Not sure what you mean by a "good" university though. Depending on your standard of "good", going the "normal" way may be fine.

good on both, depeding on YOUR pace of learning...but, i advise you my friend, that it's not good to go advanced without knowing the basics, for its all connected...basics are applied in the advanced...hope that helps...\m/...
