Theoritical background refers to the theory necessary to understand something being discussed. If u say someone has a theoritical background career-wise, it means he/she has done much theoritical work than experiments etc.
since its needed for ur i.p, and since i dont know what u mean here by i.p (lol), u need to read up the theory necessary for u 2 understand i.p.
