Usually the better quality vitamins are purchased through a health clinic. They sell products like Metagenics, likely the best, and Pure Encapsulations, also very good. These are the products the pros use. They are more expensive but if you want quality I think it is worth it.

Actually yes prenatal vitamins or childrens vitamins. They have to adhere to much more stringent standards by the FDA. Flintstones Vitamins may actually be the Rolex of the vitamin world lol.

I swear by "Source of Life" brand vitamins by Nature's Plus. Their slogan is "Guaranteed burst of energy." And they do work, without caffeine or stimulants. I've taken them for more than 10 years. You can get them in large or small size pills, or a powder to add to juice or protein shakes. They're so good that every OB/GYN/Midwife I've ever seen has approved them for use before, during and after my pregnancies. They have vitamins, minerals, lipids, bioflavonoids, enzymes, plant pigments, amino acids, nucleic acids and herbs from such sources as whole brown rice, spirulina, bee pollen, young barley leaves, sunflower oil, carrots and black currant seeds. Now I have my husband hooked on them! They're hypo-Allergenic, vegetarian, contain no Yeast, Wheat, Corn, Soy, Milk, Salt, Sugar or Starch.

I prefer green-sourced whole nutrition supplements versus synthetic ones. These are supplements derived from fruits, vegetables, and other plant sources. Not only do they provide you the needed major nutrients in a highly absorbable form, but they also provide you the micronutrients that support the functionn of the macronutrients.

I have used two very good brands: Juice Plus and NanoGreens.

whole food supplements because they contain other plant parts rather than just the actual vitamin which help the vitamin absorb better or work better etc

In a regular food you take daily... it is all there if you know what food to eat and drink. You can find them in the 'health and food' of your regular http://www.yahoo.com.
