Because when Portugal played England in the world cup Ronaldo appeared to have a hand in Wayne Rooney's sending off. He doesn't get booed at Old Trafford and Rooney and Ronaldo still celebrate together when Man Utd score, which is quite a lot this season.

Well most of the answers are right, you have a few that are way off the mark. can I just add although I was very upset at his antics in the World Cup I support Manchester United and as he plays for them, I can not ignore him when he is scoring Goals for my Club, and I am sure it`s Fans from the opposing Club who are booing him, which seem to make him play better, so let them carry on BOOING him!!!!!!!

It is generally accepted everyone that he is the cause of the sending off of Wayne Rooney during the world cup not withstanding they both play for the same club and that made the England team not to go further.
Nobody will allow his country to fail, even Rooney would have done the same for England to win. Everybody is protecting his country because there is no place like HOME
But I believe in one saying that the mouth that says bad of you must one day say good of you.

I lost understand for him after the international Cup, yet he did earn it back. His ability is purely gigantic and you have purely have been given to applaud him in spite of in case you're a United fan or interior the independent. What ticked me off this time around is that he purely could not make his recommendations up and began stringing administration and greater importantly the followers alongside. He stated he'd make a call after the CL - and it ended up sometime in August. And the expenses, movements and rumours in between that factor made me sick to be truthful. Lies, betrayal, disloyal to the club and followers. Yeah, he's staying and Sir Alex stated he in no way had a doubt - yet i think of as quickly as SAF retires, thats it - CR7 is out. Or next season, yet i think of in a pair of years. on the tip of the day, i've got have been given to understand the incontrovertible fact that he's a United participant and he did wonders for the club interior the 07/08 season. i don't be attentive to what is going by way of his recommendations whilst he places on the United shirt, yet shall we purely wish its his soccer that does the talking. Win us back Ronaldo!

Coz they are bunch of hypocrites...it started in the world cup.
Ronaldo didn't get Rooney sent off.

Rooney did it to himself, he steped on Carvhalio's groin, not Ronaldo.

Don't blame Ronaldo for England not going through to the next round, blame Sven.....he's the one who picked the wrong team.

Sure it's because of the Rooney incident but, nevertheless, he is possibly the best player in the world today.
