I agree with you. Too much violence. I personally think it is because there are a lack of discipline, kids have too many rights and don't they know them off by heart. The kids have no respect for their parents, they get what they want and don't appreciate any of it. They all need a smack on the bottom but that is not allowed either. They know they can get away with violence , with stealing because most of them are under-age. Not all kids though, but those who do things like that are slowly but surely becoming the majority. :)

There probably isn't any more violence just a different type.
and
We get to hear about it
When my Dad was little it was okay to beat your children who were expected to be seen and not heard.
The krays and other gangs ruled London and other big cities
The police clipped kids around the ear.
In the army it was okay for the officers to beat the squadies
People were hung or birched
Teachers caned kids till they bled
There was more discipline
I think it will go back to that again in the future.
It would be nice if people could just get on with each other but I truly believe the majority do.

It is strange indeed how some people could get pleasure out of making other people's lives a misery. I went past a local pub on the way to the Post Office this morning, I couldn't believe that the newly repaired fences were vandalised again. The pub owner made the outdoor sitting garden so pretty. Such a shame.

Maybe it makes the destructors feel powerful when they terrorise.

It is a shame violence still exists and that some cant realise that there is a better way. The main reason it occurs would come down to control, being in control of someone or a situation.
Maybe one day those who violence is a part of life for, will think with their hearts and not with their heads... Peace..

There is possibly more pressure on people in this day and age. More competition. Survival of the fitest. I also think there is so much violence in our society because we - as a society - allow it. If we didn't want it, we wouldn't have it. It is in all of our power to change it.

How can you say that the modern world is more violent lol Do you really think that the Romans conquered the world by having a word in their enemies ears lol. violence has always been a fact of life and death for that matter.

Things are a lot more competitive today than ever before. The resources to control seem to be more and more dear while the people want to control more and more of them. Anxiety sets in, conflict follows, and someone somewhere loses it.

Because many of us have a tendency to act like primates and beat on each other with sticks.
