well Rush claims that 30% of all Americans listen to his show, he also claims that 10% of Americans vote.
hmmmm.. he must not pay attention to what he says. I'm no longer a Republican since i've joined forces with the real conservatives the LIBERTARIAN party.

Your illogic is scathingly brilliant.
But what if it was ONLY Rush listeners that voted republican?
With most House and Senate races being decided within a few percentage points...
Wouldn't that make Rush THE most important and influential voice directing some 49% of the American vote?
Beware the surge of Hannity, Boortz et.al to boost that to 52% plus!
Traditionally incumbents loose the second term Majority...Usually a passing fad.
Their higher taxes and socialist agenda usually sours the America voter to the democratic plans relatively quickly...
Good Luck in '08.

This is a terribly good question!!!!!!!
I think it has to do with voter rights.
When I read about a voter saying at an Edwards party that President Bush should be hanged like Saddam,,, when I read that sheehan is in DC and shouted down the dems,,she wasn't happy with the gop,,I think it has to do with voter rights.
People such as these get to vote, that mentality level, and the laziness of the gop has this country where it is now, pelosi is ready to lead(actually time will tell)
I think that we need a voter class that must be taken and [passed for every voting cycle. I am not saying taxes or anything like that,,maybe pay the people to pass the class,,
The problem we have now is that far too many people are uneducated(dems already talking college tuition reduction), and led to believe that the government must take care of them,
PEOPLE we have to get over no child left behind,,free college for all,,,raise the minimum wage,, take care of my every need,,and fix the planet,,
It is not meant for all things to be equal,,fair or just.
When you come in my house, you get equal fair and just treatment,,,,,
When you are working for me,,,you better be making me money or your looking for a job.
I am sorry, I have ranted,, but it has made me feel better. And I hope you too.
Seriously ,,everything that I said ,, I meant

The republicans have (once again) shown American why there should be an end to all "Political Parties". America should be voting for individuals to represent their district. Political Parties are nothing more than "gang rule". The Dems favor a more diversified group than the Repubs, but they are both flawed
within their own philosophies.

The Rush Limbo listeners are the only ones that did still vote Republican. It just goes to show that misinforming people can get you votes.

first off, historically the dems should have taken over the house and the Senate during the mid term, otherwise they really suck. All they have had to do for 6 years is Bi**h. And Rush answer for the far right wing, but sweetie you have people in your party that think that the Soviet Union had a good idea. The opposite party is always suppose to gain power during the mid term, it just so happened that the Rep have been doing so good that they kept it for 12 years

You question is a good one and I will try and sum it up as simply as possible. Basically they govern, and played it safe and forgot their principles, lower taxes , cut spending and fiscal responsibility, less government, securing our borders, they got acclimated to power and forgot what they need to do to keep it.
If you ever watch football you will notice some teams get a big lead at halftime and end up losing the game why?
they started playing defense instead of continuing to play the way that got them the lead.

Its karma. The mid terms were a refferendum on Mr. Bush and his war. An increasing number of Americans are fed up with both.
Also the climate of corruption in the best Congress money could buy combined with the one sided, unilateral and partisan way the Republicans mis managed things led to their downfall. GOP control, 1994 - 1906, R.I. P.
If I could I would be at the tomb with a stake and mallet to be sure its gone.

I think they lost because the Republicans have made America a worse place by overspending on government. They love a massive, overbearing federal government that has abundant regulations but they do not want to pay for it. They are not honest in lowering taxes when they overspend. They take away freedoms in things like local education and put burdens on the backs of teachers to comply with regulations. If they want Socialism, they must raise taxes up to 50% to pay for it. But I think they lost House and Senate because most people know their approach is dishonest. While it is true that most American want Socialism and for the government to dictate how we live in every regard, we also want Socialistic tax rates of 50-70% to pay for that quality of life; Americans elected leaders who are honest will raise taxes fast.

"A vast majority"-you make it sound if the Democrats hold all the seats in our legislature, get a grip. If you need information what our president has worked on the during his tenure, why don't you do a little research for yourself instead of relying on others to do your work, you lefties always rely on someone else to do it for you. Just because it doesn't appear on the T.V. news doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
