Any human behaviour experts here?
I'm not sure, but it appears that they are mostly women from about 35 (with at least one child) and in their 40's.

Women who enjoyed the Eighties are generally fans of men with CLEAN long hair. I'm 39 and I'm just waiting for the Hair Bands to take over again. Love long hair, but I married a Marine with a flat top, I have pics of him in the eighties with hair down to his butt and cut in a palm tree.

Ha Ha! I saw the question and thought "OOH! That's me!" And I'm 41! LOL! I really think it all stems from the 80's. All the long hair swinging all over in the bands and most guys having at least semi-long hair. Now I like country also and think Kieth Urban is a cutie and my girls can't understand why. I tell them it's the hair. They are like "Yuck". I don't like long hair on a guy. So, anyways, it really believe it stems from the 80's era.

its a personal prefrence, and what this style represents.
Say if a woman likfe the rocker, outgoing 'do my own thing type' that may be the long hair. Its what it represents. It shows non conformity (rebelion) towards mainstream culture.
Woman always like the mysterious james bond figure. In a way, long hair represents that.

Well i'm 25 with 2 children and have always preferred men with long hair. I don't like men who look too polished, that's not masculine to me. I like men who look a bit rugged. Also being a bit of a hippy/new-age type of person I prefer my men to look natural not covered in baby lotion with not a strand of hair out of place...eeurgh!

my hubby has a shaved head, but I do think some men look great w/ long hair & funny 'cause I'm in my 30's & we do have only 1 child
