I on the patches too, you dont have to put them on your arm, you can put them anywhere as long as you dont put it on the same place twice in 7 days, try the top of your thigh or your shoulder blade.
As for placing it on a tattoo i puts in on mine im sure it will be fine, but as for the scar it may feel a bit sore when you rip it off
Good Luck!!!

Nicotine patches should be applied once a day to a non-hairy, clean, dry site, such as hip, upper arm or chest. Avoid applying to any skin that is broken, red or irritated. The area of application should be varied each day and should not be reused for at least seven days.
As long as the tattoo isn't new and the bcg scar isn't red the patch is fine. But, remember you don't have to just use the patch on your right arm. Hope this helps

since you smoke that much everyday, your body got adjusted having these poisons running ur body. That's why people with more serious drug problems can actually die by quiting abruptly. You hav to take decrease your amount of cigarettes maybe every few weeks or whatever you're comfortable with. The reason why you were coughing and stuff (tryign to not smoke) was because your body was so used to having 2-5 cigarettes a day. So each week you should decrease slowly from 2-4cigarettes, then another few weeks, 2-3, then so on.

Get rid of the patch, just use some mint or mint chewing gum when you feel the urge to smoke. It gets better with time, the lesser the crutches the better.Ive been smoke free 4 months and although the urge comes back evey now and then im happy to say the worst is over.It can work for you too, best of luck.

Not sure but......
You may have heard this all before:
1. be strong, the craving is a physical thing - your body feels like it is missing something and so you think the cigarette will help, no it will not, it will make you go back to square one.
2. remember why you do not want to light another one and if you do would it be worth it anyway.
3. try homoeopathic remedies and good healthy tasty fruit and vegetable juices, your body is healing itself.
I packed up 3 years ago after smoking for 12 years, I will be honest with you it took a year of stopping and starting to decided that enough was enough, it is your choice, your body and your right - it is great to be smoke free, but only you can decided this for yourself. Hope this helps, good luck.

I would think you could do that. A tatoo wouldn't hamper the patch's use. Try your left arm. I've even put them on my upper chest. If you start getting a rash or a red blister on your skin, stop using it and call a Dr. Start chewing gum & eating hard candy. Sugar, in some way, reduces the urge to smoke. (I used that to get off of weed, too)

I think the only way for me to quit smoking with the use of patches would be if the patch was over my mouth!
I think you can put them over a tattoo/scar though.
I am hoping to try the new tablet called Champix it was featured on This Morning yesterday & looked promising

Good luck with the patches though!!!

Might sounds strange but have you tried Auricular Acupuncture? Its Acupunture on the lobe of your ear. This treatment is really effective in drug rehabilitation and also have been quite succesful in treating smokers who would like to quit.
Otherwise, my friend tried hypnotherapy and she was cured of smoking. She said that it was amazing as therapist had told her to drink water everytime she craves a smoke and then only realised after a couple of weeks that she didnt even think about smoking and had been drinking lots of water without even realising it was her cravings.
If you do try either of these techniques, let me know, I would be interesting to hear what you think of it.

I just alternate between 2 spots - one on my left arm, and one on my right arm - and its never caused any problems.
Well done on giving up, hope you are finding it okay :) I'm on my 41st day with the patches :)
