The purpose of dreams is not to DO things. Since Karl Gustav Yung, dreams are only a reflexion of your unconscious mind or your "personality N° 2" and are purposed to help you understand yourself if they are correctly interpreted - which in most cases needs help of a specialist.
Now, if you mean "is a daydreamer a man (woman) of action" then yes, there are zillions of examples in history. On the top of my head: Cromwell, De Gaulle, Savonarola, etc. In their cases, not to daydream would mean the abandon of any action!

It is very true indeed that a great doer is rarely ever a great dreamer as well.
Greatness comes from special talents which are very different, almost opposite, for dreaming and doing. It is rather quite unlikely that the same person would possess both the special talents required for high grade dreaming and highly efficient doing. Any one can do the dreaming and anyone can do the doing.... but high quality visionary or executioner is uncommon and that is why specialization works so well in any organization.

I am a great dreamer, let me tell you! I dream my life away, every second of it!
I am an ok doer. I get things done but rarely with the heroism of my dreams. I suppose I have achieved a lot...I could have achieved a lot more if I did not dream so much!

Some of the finest most magnificent creations have come about by dreamers making their dreams come true!
So some dreamers are doers as well!

Philosophy test?
Heck no. To do you must first dream. After dreaming is planning. After planning comes doing. After initial doing comes evaluating, and changing one's ideas if needed--but the dream remains unchanged. From evaluation and change comes more doing, sometimes quick but oftentimes very slow, plodding along to the dream.
Some dreams are fast to fulfill-- ex. I want to buy a house.
Others take a lifetime. Ex. I want to care for ill children until I can no longer do the work.
Other dreams take one's own lifetime, PLUS the lifetimes of others, like Martin Luther King's "I have a dream..."
