A conclusion can have various specific meanings depending on the context. It always assumes, however, some kind of cause and effect scheme, with the conclusion being result of what preceded it. In everyday speech, any thought one arrives at through thinking based on facts and information can be called a conclusion. However, a conclusion is most commonly thought of as the last paragraph in an essay.
It is the specific meaning dear!

Example from a story: Lisa asks Brian to go to a movie. Brian accepts. They have a good time at the movie. Brian asks Lisa to go to the movies the next week and she says yes. Every week Lisa and Brian are seen at the movies, holding hands.
The inference others could make is "Lisa and Brian like each other."
Inferences and facts are combined to form conclusions. Facts support conclusions. In a written essay, a "conclusion" is the end (usually a paragraph for a short essay) that tells what you have "concluded" (decided upon, reached an opinion about) based on the facts and inferences given in your essay.
My written conclusion about Lisa and Brian might say: Based on the fact that Lisa and Brian are seen together frequently, we can surmise that they like each other. They talk often during the day, hold hands, and go to the movies together every week. They seem to enjoy each other's company, since they often smile and laugh during conversations. Therefore, the premise that Lisa likes Brian and Brian likes Lisa seems well-supported by observation.

In an essay, the first sentence should let the reader know that you are writing the concluding paragraph. Easily can be started with "In conclusion..." and restate the thesis statement of your essay. Next, you sort of summarize the point of your essay you've written, and not only that, also where you give input of why the stuff happened the way it did. An insight of the reasons to everything. Then, after that, you conclude with a final sentence that pretty much is like a final thought.

In my course of studies, a conclusion is written right after you investigate something, or research into something...
You basically write out what you found out during your research, and it can be done as bulletpoints...
