When in the hallways I have to wear a white lab coat. But in my office I want to be comfortable. Do jeans go with a white lab coat? What type of shirt do I wear? I like to wear a shirt and tie when I see patients. I used to wear a white shirt and tie until my hospital id card photo was taken. My face is floating on a white back drop.

Thank you for advice.

just keep it simple - either a nice tshirt or long sleeved top, collared or polo shirt, a pair of jeans and comfortable shoes (runners, slip ons...whatever) you can dress very casual and comfortable but at the same time look respectable and put together. your going to be a doctor...working long hours...you're going to want to be comfortable and in clothes that are simple and don't interfere with what you need to do.

Wear what you're comfortable in. Why are you even worrying about this? Med school is not a fashion show.

i'm a med student too.. I suggest you to give up the tie: it's very uncomfortable and useless: patients don't care how much stylish you are! and you should know how easly your tie will become dirty...
