You might be thinking of Simon and Garfunkel and the song is The Boxer?

The name of the song is "The Boxer." While performed by a few other artists, (Paul) Simon and (Art) Garfunkel recieved the most popularity from it. It was written by Bob Dylan. Dylan has written so many songs for various artists over the years, but gets very little recognition for it. .
