You say that you nearly broke up and you had to beg him not to leave you this appears to be more of a dependency relationship on your part.
You sound like you need to work through your problems before you even think of a relationship .
Love is not a feeling it's an act of your will.
Love is respect, emotion, sex ,thought.
When you get the middle two without the other you have gotten the cart before the horse and you have nothing.
Nothing that will take you through the tough times.
Thought and respect will develope friendship and it is a lot harder to walk away from a friend when the relationship is enduring the hard road.
One day if you wait the right person will come along for each of you and it will be worth the wait.
Take care!

What you are describing is not healthy. Unless something changes, it will only get worse, and you are only dragging things out longer than necessary.

A very wise woman once said: "It's better to leave him and let both of you find suitable partners that will eventually fulfill your emotional and physical needs."

do u know that youre hurting him? perhaps you two have different ways of communicating. only time will help you to overcome such a thing. if he is quick to break up over the little things....its not you dear....he's impatient to have perfection...which of course is unrealistic....he'll figure that out one day...
and no it's not healthy. i hope you work it out
