At home, none. Extra cash is in a safe deposit box. Having it at home just makes it easyer to grab and spend plus it may get stolen easy.

Why no cash at home for me? I figure if theres a major disaster: Fire, Earthquake, Flood, Etc. There will be far more things to worry about than having a few bucks on me and quite frankly if I needed food/water in an extreme emergency like that either 1) Theres a shelter somewhere by the time you need food/water to survive or 2) You could loot the supermarket in a worst case senario.

Next time you get the child take her in to see a social service worker and have her condition documented. Then immediately go to the courthouse and file emergency custody papers that should allow you to keep the child and not let the ex have any visitation until after the hearing. A judge will let you know what to do from there.

$50.00, the rest is either in a checking or a money market account. If it is just lying around I want to be earning some interest on it.

£250. Enough for any taxi's, train tickets, a deposit on an airline ticket and enough for a deposit in a bank.
