Considering that the origins of Freemasonry date back to King Solomon's times and are historically related to the bulding of his Temple, I believe that Freemasons should actually be proud of who they are, and of their important task too; and I can assure that they are;).

I don't know what you're asking - was he safer with his Masonic brothers than with the Secret Service? Well, that's obvious! No one has ever trusted the Secret Service guys with where the treasure of the Knights Templar is hidden, but the Masons know! My daddy was a Mason and he knew - at least he said he did...
maybe he was lying, I dunno. He did that sometimes.

I am not a Freemason, but know of people who are and some who are not any more. As far as being proud, some of them are and some of them aren't.
Pride, however, refers to a strong sense of self-respect, a refusal to be humiliated as well as joy in the accomplishments of oneself or a person, group, or object that one identifies with. One doesn't have to be a Freemason to be proud. There are many who are proud. Just think, there is Europride, White pride, Black pride, Brown pride, Asian pride, Gay pride, etc.
Both concepts are interesting to study...
