I asked the owner of the satellite antenna and he said that he had just changed his modem when my connection dropped out. Now it's late and the owner is most likely asleep and I have good signal and no drop outs yet. So I'm thinking he was hogging the bandwidth causing me to lose or have a weak signal.

Would my assumption be correct?

What are my options if it is?

Thanks.

It could be that, or it could be other reasons. I know weather disrupts my service from time to time. also, when your using wifi, you gotta be sure no one else out there is leeching it. (many people go around looking for open connections) so double check to make sure its a locked connection that whomever lives there only has the passwords to. If the problem persists, call attention to the owner and show him just how slow or how many drop outs you get.

It could also be interference. 2.4GHz cordless phones usually start on channel 1; microwave ovens generate a lot of interference on channels 7-11. What channel are you using?
