senators should get their salery while they are on the campaign trail or should we have the no work ,no pay law strickly inforced.

They get a salary. They aren't paid on a hourly wage. So whether they work 20 hours or 60 hours their wage is the same. They need to stop giving themselves pay raises and actually take a reduction in pay. They do very little to get things done. It seems that when they pass a bill it has nothing to do with any current problems that we are now facing.

Congressmen and Senators are paid a salary. Nobody cares if they show up or not except the voters they answer to. You have the chance every couple of years to fire them if you don't think they are doing a good job.
