Fear means you're scared or afraid of something. Fear deals with phobia. Greed means you're hungry and you want eat all sort of foods.

Fear is something that makes you turn away from something.
Greed is something that makes you go after something like you would jump a cliff rather than not have it.
Both however are bad (to some degree), since if you avoid something that could be good, then you'll miss out, and if you want something that won't help you and probably occupies your time, then you would also miss out.

When your in fear, you may take, take, take, because you feel it would make you safer. If you lack nothing, you lose nothing and more means power, which may mean everything.
But greed, security is already there.
