How many hours is the train ride from Singapore to Malaysia? How much? What's the best place to go when in Malaysia? Is it safe there?

Hello I am not 100% certain on the train ride, but from singapore across the bridge by car can really vary by the time of day and traffic normally a hour has you across the border, but be aware malaysia as you first cross the border is like night and day difference from singapore, how ever there is some descent shopping areas and The Zon hotel on the sea is a brilliant hotel, 5 star and has a shopping center 5 floors built inside the hotel area, very nice lay out superior rooms etc.. are you a Smoker? if so then cigarettes are much cheaper, and every one smokes there, personally i am a non smoker and it was tuff. My recomended places of intrest in Malaysia is Kuala Lumpar which is a hour flight from singapore , very advanced city, clean, nice people, great environment, other area ive been in is Labuan small island in malaysia is like a hr flight from Kuala Lumpar is also a duty free island , very clean, nice beach areas, busy lil town, nice shopping Mall, many strip shops scattered about, not quiet as clean and advanced as Kuala Lumpar for as city life goes is more of a industrial area of oil and gas etc.. lot of offshore work in oilfiled goin on out of Labuan, and last question is it safe there? I am American, working currenly in singapore and doing some training over in malaysia , and 3 years ago I was working in malyasia i have been to the different parts of malaysia 4 trips and it is relativley safe, in the not so advanced areas you have many poor ,etc begging which can get pretty nasty , best thing here is to ignore them and mind your own business, much of it is scams, and of course you have the more advanced city life dangers also, just keep your wallet in safe place as well as your passport , mind your own business , stay out of areas of suspicion, if a friend is trveling with you always stick together, much less of a target to your unwanted friends in a party of 2 than being alone especially at night. hope this helps and enjoy your trip i am 100% certain you will enjoy the malaysian tour.

Any where in Malaysia is great place to go..perhaps you can go to Terengganu, Langkawi or Penang for its great beaches, or maybe in kuala lumpur itself is great for shopping or entertainment..
Safe?? Malaysia is a practically a safe country where its people lives in harmony..we dont get Bomb al the times unlike other asian country..by you also need to be extra careful because crime can be anywhere and everywhere around the world..

The train ride to KL is about 10 hours. The coach ride is about 6 hours.
If you want to go for an R&R trip, you can try Cameron Highlands or Fraser's Hills. Redang is not bad too. For an inexpensive and laid-back trip, you can try Kukup.
