HELL YEAH he's a jerk!

He's got no credibility with anyone anymore. He's all about money and thats it.
How do you say to the media "How many times do i have to say im not leaving the Dolphins and that im NOT going to Alabama?"
and then leave a month later?
How can you TRUST a coach like that?

And as for Chris G's answer: Thats a stupid answer. If he left because he thought he was on a losing ship as you say, thats even MORE reason to call him a jerk. What kind of faith can you put in a coach when he bolts at the 1st signs of trouble?

No Nick Saban isn't a jerk. He is however a cry baby/greedy greedy evil man.

1. MSU-couldnt compete w/ U of M w/ recruiting & $$$$$
2. LSU-more money in MIAMI (and hotter chicks)
3. Miami-left for money in Alabama (cant blame a guy who has Joey Harrington at QB for leaving though, a lesser man would have shot himself)
4. Will someday leave Alabama for an assistat coaching job in the NFL once he fails and his beautiful hair falls out.

Nick Saban.......same hair, same reason for leaving.

Yea...ya know what...hes a jerk

Spurrier did it. Notre Dames coach did it. When you are coaching pro players making more money than you --with attitude that is so bad -- you can't teach them anything. Dante is good person and was a tremndous leader in College. He single handedly made USF a division one school. The alleged misconduct in minn. blew him away since he later proved that he didn't do anything illegal or ill moral. Wife was living in Fla with five kids and he in Minnesota. That is hard when you are hurt and injured. Miami came too late for Daunte. He is still a great person --but Saban needed more than that. Saban knows how to cut his losses. College students can be molded and shaped. LSU semior and juniors are his recruits. By the looks of things he is just sticking to what he knows how to do best. I don't beleive he will leave again. Spurrier gave up 25 million to get out of the NFL malaise. Unlike college that is ruled by the booster and boards of region-- NFL is rule by a hand full of owners who make a lot of money. So much that Salaries in the NFL are not guarantee and the retirement is great but dismal for the salary caps. Asked some vetrans living on pennies with public assistance to take care of their NFL injuries.

No he is not a jerk! Alabama just gave him a $30,000.000 contract for eight years. Yes, he accepted the offer and will leave the Dolphins. Tell me that the Alabama Alumi doesn't have the cash. Mike Shula did as good as he could with what he inherited.
But look out for the Tide at least within two years.

In matter of fact that is the most money ever spent for an NCAA coach. Wow!

He's a selfish, liar. That bastard! I hope the Tide doesn't win a game for 2 years! The Dolphins didn't gain anything from him being here. Good Riddins!

Maybe it just wasn't a right "fit" for him...Maybe college ball is more of his cup of tea..you shouldn't assume it's the pressure of the NFL. I'm sure college ball has pressure also.

Maybe he felt like he wasn't getting anywhere. If I had a team with Daunte Culpepper and Joey Harrington at QB and a possibly-retiring Jason Taylor, I might bolt too.

i dont think he lied... i think he changed his mind.

after he said no the first time, alabama offered it to other people then came back to nick saban and changed his mind by sweetening the deal (8 yrs, $32 mil)

I think he got ran out of Miami, he thought he would have a few more years to build the team, he was wrong. It is not his fault that he got in way over his head.
