India will never become anything more than it is now.

Although they have a lot of people, they are all being raised in the archaic caste system. Although this system was abolished legally and figuratively in reality it is practiced on a daily basis.

Anyone born in India from money is thought of as "deserving it'.
Anyone born into poverty is thought to have deserved this as well.

So very little is done to help the lower levels and the upper levels feel it is their "right" to exploit anyone and get as much money as possible..... since they were granted that right by being born rich.

It should not take a long time, but you have to change the way the people think, there is no need to replace the people. For petty gains people accept corruption, corrupt politicians and corrupt beauraucracy. A few people are needed who will work for the upliftment of the poor and to create awareness of their basic rights. There is plenty of money and wealth in India, but it is not distributed properly. There is plenty of brains and manpower, but it is not used efficiently. At last, a spark, just a spark is needed to light a huge forest fire. Who will be the spark ?
