one night in down town LA i was at a gas station. it was 3 A.M. i was there with my friends on vacation. i needed direction back to the freeway. while my freind was filling up gas i ask a man for directions. he mumbled "not right now". i said i'm really dont know my way , could you please help me. He said not right now louder and pullled a his shirt. under his shirt was a gun. i went back to my friends cars and told him to get us out of the f''ing place. i left unharmed. but i didn't call the police or anything. i was just thinking about getting as far away from that gas station as possible. i guess the dude with the gun was gonna rob the gas station cashier. he didn't want anyone around. there was no one around execpt me, my freinds the cashier and that man.

would you have done something to help the cahsier?

You did the right thing leaving. Being a hero could have cost you your life or the cashiers life. You might have stopped to call the cops though after you left.

I would've called the cops as soon as I was safe, although I've also picked up a girl outside of a bar whose boyfriend was beating her up and offerred her a ride home even though the "abusive boyfriend" turned his anger onto me. I'm not into religion but I really believe in the line (or whatever): "All evil needs is for good men to do nothing" might not be an exact quote but still good words to live by.

You were in the immediate presence of an armed individual. Your decison to get the hell out of dodge was sound. You could have called the cops to tell them what you had encountered though! Be glad you are safe enough to write this. Vogelweh1949@yahoo.com

no, you where not wrong for leaving, but you should have called the police so they could have checked on the cashier. i myself would have got in the car and used a cell phone to call the police right then

he may have thought you were trying to rob him..did you ever see anything in the paper about a robbery there at that store. next time that happens, get a good description of him and his car and the tag number on the car and call the police.
