When people say they are looking for a song, why aren't they more specific about the format?

it would help those of us answering an awful lot if we knew if you were looking for a download, CD, sheet music etc.

Good question.

But without being too picky, your question was also misleading. reading the headline question it looks like you are looking for a song.

Your first sentance in the additional details would have been a much more specific question.

Or was that just an example to show us how infuriating it is ? Ok, get it now...sorry.

We see this sort of thing all over this site. People using "help", or "do you know" as thier headline question. More fool the rest of us for going into thier question and answering it.

Its because people don't stop and proof read. They break the first rule of communication which is....."known your target audience".

They just assume we are thinking exactly as they are and there is no need to put things in context, they should realise we are not all mindreaders.
