I read the book, haven't seen the movie. Unfortunately sometimes it is really hard to explain that the things are lie. I totally understand you. I have been to Iran many times and because of my ongoing business trips I bought and apartment from Tehran. It is clear that the story is a lie. I am from Turkiye and we have the same problem with Midnight Express story.
Better not to care about it, if they believe those stories, it is clear that they believe the existance of Superman, Neo(Matrix) etc.

I have not seen the movie not without my daughter but i have read the book...
I don't know wat is shown in the movie....

I don't noe wat happens in ur country...i jus know wat ppl around me says...

This book is written by the lady who was a victim to this and how she had escaped. Now presently, she is living with her daughter somewhere hidden and had changed their names.

May be as u say...ur country is not that ruin place...might be now the conditions are differrent and at that time it was different. Might be people around u were not like the people around her.

So everything matters...i did not see the movie...but if the movie is same as the book...then it was showing the real life of a person who went through all that in that place and in that family.

I haven't seen the movie but I have read the book. I believe what is written there is the personal testimony of a lady who suffered. Maybe there is a little bit of exaggeration but I cannot believe that is all lies. Any way Betty is not the only lady who suffered, other women had similar or worst experience. Are they all telling lies.

It's a bit over the top with the bullshit, isn't it?

But be grateful that anyone who has seen it and buys into it's weird propoganda will not be visiting Iran - you wouldn't want them as tourists anyway.

Yeah, I know.

They take one isolated incident of something and blow it up, making it look like a part of the culture.

Dumb movie.
