they have been diagnosed, but ignore it, claim they do not have it! Stop going to that doc and see another who diagnosis and they get mad and stop going to that one also? Then try to say that they do not have this but their daughter has it. Even though daughter is actively in therapy BECAUSE of the BPD mother! And her therapist says SHE does NOT have it? Okay I'm the daughter.....lol.... I just don't know what to think about this, is it common???? My dad also believes that it is me that has it, well he never comes out and says that, but he tells me I make my mom act the way she does, which is basically the samething. I'm so confused.

Thank you for your response. Actually my therapist and doctor have both told me that it is not hereditary. They do not know exactly what cause it as of yet, but it can't be linked genetically. And often a child of a parent with it will display some symptoms (how could they not growing up in that environment?) But does not/will not fit the DSM criteria for BPD. Plus their symptoms can be changed though therapy, where as the BPD's cannot. That is why I worry about this I suppose.
