There are crystals left what happened to the water? what was lseft behind? what is the chemical name for this solid?

HCl + NaCl = no reaction
crystals left were NaCl.

There is no reaction here. HCl is a volatile gas, and evaporates away, like the water. So eventually just crystals of NaCl are left behind.

The reaction occured leaving NAOH behind and Cl gas evaporated due to the heat applied, the water was used in the reaction by supplying oxygen needed to make up the OH group (oxidising agent).
