Go in a more powerful bed that has a lot more UVA. The Soltron XL will give you a tan for like 3 weeks after 12 minutes, but not many salons have it. At LA tan, it's considered a "level 5 bed." The level 1 beds make my tan fade in a few days as well. The soltron and similar beds are pretty awesome in terms of developing a lasting tan (I'm just not sure about their skin cancer risk...). The lotions they sell supposedly help continue the tan, but I don't think they really do much.

I work at a tanning salon in South Jersey... its very upscale with the BEST beds! Firstly you have got to use lotion. You get 30% more tan with a lotion. Even if its a medium priced lotion, thats fine. Keeping your skin moisturized is very important. Also if your tanning salon has UVA beds they work better then a UVB bed. ( and they are safer) Increase the time your in the bed day after day and you might need to go everyday before you get the tone you want. Then just go 2-3 times a week!!!! GOOD LUCK**

Sound like you go in a regular bed. You should try one of the higher pressure beds. Try the highest..this one is good for once every couple weeks use it is usually called "high performance" or "high pressure" It deepens and extends the life of your tan. Tanning lotions that are at the salon help too! Ask someone that works there to help you out with choosing the right lotion for you. Ask about a bronzer..people usually like those because they give you the "instant color". But defiantly ask who ever is working about the highest bed they have and how it should be used!! This is going to cost you a little bit more but its totally worth it.

exfoliate afterwards - i know it sounds like the opposite of what you should do, but i've read plenty of times it helps preserve your tan, and also you could use a half tan half moisturise to keep it going, so you keep the tan, but don't make yourself go orange

btw arent tanning beds really bad for you?
