They walked to the train, then from the train to the deathcamp. Then to the ovens, etc. Why? Why didn't they lay down and make the Nazi's work a little? Why don't humans resist oppressors? Is there any greater foolishness than to make mass killing easier for the bad guys?

The Nazis were good at mass slaughter of humans, they murdered most of the Jews and Gypsies in the countries they occupied, most of the local population in these countries supported the Nazi "cleansing" effort, and many participated actively in mass murders. Jews were starved to death, murdered by firing squads, and gassed in concentration camps. and all this time the allies, Britain and the US, who knew what was going on, did not try and hinder the Nazi activities.

They had no chance to defend themselves against the Nazis. When they walked to the trains and to the gas chambers they were threatened with guns and if they tried to escape or to resist they were shot immediately. As it was written here before the Nazis said the gas chambers were showers, but many Jews knew that deportation meant death, but there was nothing they could do and most tried to live a little longer and hoped for a little chance to maybe survive.
However there were cases that Jews tried to resist and fight the Nazis and I give you some links about this.

Native Americans resisted, which is one reason they were never enslaved the way Africans were. Look how few Native Americans are left today. Clearly, it's safer to go along until the opportunity to escape presents itself, though death may be more noble.

If all the Jews had resisted, there wouldn't have been many left to save once the Allies finally came along.

1. They weren't told they were going to be killed, just relocated. Many were already in ghettos and it couldn't get much worse. So, they were told that they were going to "wide open land" among over things.

2. They were shot on site at some of the concentration camps if they resisted any German's wish at any time.

3. They were told the gas chambers were showers and the purpose of them was to remove lice. They were put into them almost immediatly arriving after the concentration camp, so nobody was forewarned.

they were told they were going to be deloused or to the showers. plus goons with guns are hard to resist. also, it's a bit hard to walk yourself into an oven when ur dead. the prisoners who were left alive did that job so they could stay alive
