Sometimes they will remain close friends. Sex WILL change things, because you are introducing a major new element into the relationship. People's reactions and expectations (especially at the subconscious level) change. That doesn't mean you can't continue or remain friends, but it will definitely result in change, sometimes for the better, sometimes for worse. Also, after a sexual relationship has ended, a person may need time before they are ready to continue a friendship. Other times, a person may just decide to move on. Relationships include risk, and there is no way to know for sure in advance.

If you are mutually agreeable to a sexual situation, and you are both willing to take the risk, it might lead to something even better.
Just make sure you continue to be honest with yourself and with each other all along the way.

Yes, they can remain close friends (and presumably you meant not lovers) after having sex with each other. However, they must honestly define their friendship: is there still some hope that they'll become lovers or they've resolved they'll be "just friends".

Will things remain "normal" ? Things can be normal but not exactly the same as before. People always feel differently about those with whom they've shared intimacies, for better or worse.

No. once you have opened the pandora box, you can't close it. You may be friends but not as before. Things will not remain normal. Adam and Eve also made such a mistake and they had to pay heavily for it.

They can remain close but complications might arise with pregnancy, committment issues, and even honesty. When people say, "Save sex for marriage," it's also a moral issue but keeping one person to a standard of living as well.

Honestly not in most cases. More often than not someone gets attached and looks into more than it really is. Usually it's the girl but I have seen it happen to guys. Be careful as there is a high probability your friendship is done once you start knockin boots

You have crossed the boundary, but depends on if you are both happy being shag buddies or one of you wants to take the relashionship to another level.
It can work and only usually becomes a problem when one of you meets your Miss or Mr right and wants to stop.

not possible. Once two become one in the flesh, it is not possible for things to become "back to normal". There will be a difference in the way that you either see/think about/relate with each other.

It depends on the guy. And the girl. And the quality of the sex.

So in other words, probably not. But at least you got laid.
