We feed ours twice a day - in the morning and evening they get a limited amount of pellets (many rabbits will eat as much as you put in front of them and too much food leads to overweigjht rabbits) and a big bowl of a variety of greens. They also have access to unlimited grass hay all day as that is a very important part of a rabbits diet as is fresh water. We limit the treats (and that means fruit and carrots) and don't give them any of the pet store treats as most are very bad for rabbits.

Here are several links to info on diet:

Hope this helps.

It depends on how active your rabbits are. If they are allowed daily acess to a run or are house rabbits then they will need more food i would suggest half a cupful in the morning and evening of dreid food then a little bit a veg like a carrot in the morning. If they dont go in a run and tend to sitin there hutch then less is needed as they dont burn it off as easily so half a cup in the evening and half a carrot in the morning. When you get your rabbits look at how much they run around and adjust there feeding accordingly. What i did was put a little bit of food in a bowl then gradually as long as the bowl was empty in the morning increase the amount when i found taht one morning there was food left in the bowl i didnt give him as much adn i do this every few weeks to check he's getting the right amount. Also rabbits who dont exercise regurly can get fat so if you think hes a bit on the podgy side then you can buy diet rabbit food which will regulate his weight.

Feed in the morning and leave enough for them to eat on all day as rabbits in the wild need to feed on a regular basis. Always be sure to empty left over food out daily and give fresh. Alittle hint: If you have soil underneath the cages, you have the best worm bed in the state. The earthworms will come to the rich soil and multiple quick. Live near a lake? Start a worm business.

I always fed my meat rabbits once, with no hay. This is more concentration-camp rations than a house-rabbit's diet, but they seemed fine.
The consensus around Yahoo seems to be that rabbits really should get all the low-calorie hay (timothy, oat hay) that they'll eat, complemented by a limited pellet ration. They chew on the hay all day, which keeps them sane, and supplies plenty of fiber.
Once daily should be fine, especially if they have a giant pile of hay to munch on through the night.

I feed my dwarf rabbit once a day and he always eats the treats first. Then will eat the Roman lettuce through out the day apple and carrot last . Would that be enough to?

put a feeder in your rabbit cage that way your rabbit can eat whenever he/she is hungry and you will need to refill the feeder when it's low on food.
