I don't know if you'll think it is a "good write". Its about when I was a little kid and had been playing outside in the snow all day, then I almost fell asleep in the neighbors woodpile. I imagined that I would freeze there because I didn't feel the cold any more. Its kind of morose, so if you were looking for cheerful stuff, you should specify!

Familiar Duskdream

Those clouds are a phantom memory of myself
Staring up at the sky, still blue and white;
high Sistine ceiling blowing fast to the right,
and the frozen floor hushing, holding on,
Turning in Coriolis.

I waited in windless, waning light,
reclined with that smiling ghost of a socialite
In the powder on Foster's woodpile.
Amused by silent fingers and at begging toes yelping,
like Foster's dog who jumped the fence with her leash on
and briefly woke the neighborhood, choking on a moonless night.

The toes like she quieted too, as dark bounded the games that day.
My clouds of breath and the high holy puffs lost their white.
We kissed and felt the infinite.
Then mom called me home, and the satisfied ghost went away.
Those clouds came back to haunt me today.

To be poet is to be sensible,
Is to perceive the world with other eyes.
Is to be romantic...
It is to dream waked up...
It is to be artist!
It is to write the human feelings with words.
It is to be some people in one only!
