Actually, what we refer to as coming from our heart also come from our brain. It's just that we can't rationalize what we call reasons of the heart as well as those we attribute to the brain. Information comes to us in many forms and is registered in our brain differently, some in the conscious part, others in the subconscious. For the latter, we attribute it to the heart!

I agree the answer should be both. When your "heart" tells you something, let your "brain" check it out further before you act. Example: customs and security personnel sometimes act on their "feelings" when they process people coming into our country. Some may have perfect credentials and nothing unusual in their luggage but if the officer has a feeling something isn't quite right, he'll check the visitors out more thoroughly and from time to time, something would be wrong indeed...

Actually to the sound.

And if you don't follow your heart you will die. The day You will stop following your heart - you are dead. I am serious.

Well, more seriously - what is rational? Have read the madman by Nietzsche? May be what your heart says is rational or are you trapped by that Greek guy named Socrates and of course his students i.e. most of your teachers who taught you that thing called rational. My dear, in this world no one knows what is rational and what is not. They are simply following their own heart or someone else. When I say - 'someone else', I mean they are following something that is defined to be rational by someone else's heart - which heart might have been considered more wise and trustworthy by you or chain of other individuals like you. So don't worry about following your heart or mind. Just do what you think is right. Nothing is right or wrong in this world of uncertainty.

Yes - I think it is healthy. People seem to rationalize so much and that sometimes prevents them from trying new things and having new adventures.

I don't believe that when we take an action that is 'from the heart' our brains go blank or anything.

Acting from the heart and doing the wild crazy thing makes life exciting.

Trick is to not do it too much.

ur emotions has to be fed just like any organ in the body. because in a sense it is an organ u can not see. but u can sure feel it when u hurt it. the brain is nothing but a vessel that collects information and feelings that cause u to learn the hard way or the easy way depending on ur stubbornness. so be sure to keep ur eyes & ears sharp & in shape. use it all ,all the time. so u do less mistakes. one mistake to many could get u killed, very dead, very fast!

I think it's fine to do something wild and crazy every so often as long as no one gets hurt. When it comes to matters of the heart you had better use your brain AND your heart. If you don't use your brain, you're not utilizing past experiences and could really blow it. Sometimes we confuse strong attraction for love. If you're going to fall for someone you're attracted to, make sure you use your brain to be sure this person is worthy of you.

Heart and Brain are both the parts of human nature!

To tell you a truth, if anyone of it has been damaged, you can not live. your brain is a cpu and process the information. And your heart, is the motherboard which controls every function. If your brain gets damaged you can live as mad. but if your heart doesnt function you may die.

so, both of them are important. But it is better to give more importance to your heart

It just depends on what you're dealing with at the time.

If it's a matter of love, the heart.

If it's a matter of business, the brain.

And if it's both, it's your choice to find a medium, but I personally suggest the heart in this kind of matter.

The brain mostly because it's right and has the idea to know right from wrong. The heart takes too many risks.

I think the trick is to know when to rationally follow your heart!

It is important to use both. It is your choice how much you follow either/both in any particular situation. Just be sure you are willing to take whatever consequences are attached to the risk, and try to be aware and honest in making those choices.
